Greg Lanzillotta is a Canadian-born actor, voice performer, bon vivant and disc jock known for his fresh, party-rocking style of music selection for the dance floor. Growing up in the 1970s, this Toronto native has a conscious pre-hip-hop knowledge playing raw disco, house classics, feel-good new wave, choice funk, post-disco electro funk/boogie, dusty soul, and classic rock flavours to go along with the golden era of hip-hop that makes up his DNA. Greg's early inspirations to get behind the decks came in 1986 when he began playing around with his older brothers' DJ gear and records while they were out. Once he heard Grandmaster Flash, Afrika Bambaataa, Jam Master Jay, Jazzy Jeff, and Eric B. coming through them speakers Greg was hooked, and at that moment he began emulating his new DJ idols by making mixtapes for his friends at school, at the age of ten.
In 1990, after experiencing Jimi Hendrix's 'Castles Made Of Sand' over the radio for the first time, Greg decided to teach himself the guitar, driving him to learn (and always be learning!) the techniques/styles from the massive catalogues of legendary guitar masters like Hendrix, Roy Buchanan, Poison Ivy, Jimmy Page, all three Kings (Albert, B.B., Freddie), Wes Montgomery, Prince, Jimmy Nolen, Johnny "Guitar" Watson, Curtis Mayfield, Jerry Garcia, Danny Gatton, Frank Zappa, Al McKay, Phelps "Catfish" Collins, Leo Nocentelli, Lenny Breau, David Byrne, Neil Young, Trey Anastasio, SRV, to name a few. (He's also a self-taught drummer and bass player.) After years of playing in bands, either on the drums, bass and/or guitar, his obsession turned back to the decks.
It wasn't until 1999 when Greg was asked to be "the musical selector" and deejay a friend's wedding after hosting a handful of solid house parties. Since then he's been obsessed with performing as well as he possibly can at oodles of house parties, weddings, corporate and social events (all through word-of-mouth) allowing him to flawlessly shift between genres, drawing on all forms of music for excited dance floors.
Greg lives in Toronto with his dog.
