Patiently, We Bloom
Expect nothing less than great vibes from D.C.'s Diggs Duke! Thanks to PhillyD for sending me a boat-load of tracks last summer with this gem hidden in the pile. This laid-back and beautifully refined tune has Diggs experimenting with interesting tones, harmonies, and instruments blending jazz in the mix. Perfect for the spring thaw.
Diggs Duke says it better:
All living creatures are impatient at the beginning of Spring. We become anxious about the coming of Summer. By March, everyone loathes the long winter that's frosted over our lives, turning them cold and boring. This song uses the beauty of the blooming season as a metaphor for action. Specifically, the poem in the song personifies a perennial plant, as it awaits the coming of another opportunity. Patiently, we look for an opening. Patiently, we sit. Patiently, we bloom.
